Heather A. Rosciti
Mrs. Heather A. Rosciti has been dancing for forty years and has been teaching dance since the age of eighteen. She obtained Dance RI in 1996. Heather is a graduate of Rhode Island College with a BA in Communications and a minor in Dance. She was a member of Rhode Island’s Ballet Theatre from 1997-2000 where she performed in the following pieces; Here, There, and Everywhere, Festival in Venice, 1, 2, 3, etc., Ballerinas on Broadway, Debut, and Dream Catcher. She has had lead roles as the Dawn Fairy in Hansel and Gretel and Lady of the Lake in Merlin. Although Heather is no longer a performer with the company, she has been asked to judge auditions for future company participants. Heather continues to study with various teachers and choreographers throughout Rhode Island. She has taken master tap classes with Dianne Walker, Rocky Mendes, and Andrew Nemr. She has also participated in dance workshops at Dance Forum with various master teachers in multiple dance disciplines. Heather is also featured in Who’s Who of RI Dance. She has studied under Madeline Marshall who was a well known ballet teacher throughout the state. As choreographer for the Dance RI competition team, she has received many awards for technique, costuming, choreography, and performance quality. She is also a member of Professional Dance Teachers Association, Dance Educators of America, Dance Alliance of Rhode Island, and Dance Masters of America. Along with Heather’s dance program, she is also certified in Pilates by Sara’s City Workout, which is recognized by the American Council on Exercise and approved by AFAA. She also continuously studies various styles of yoga. Heather taught ballet and modern dance at Brown University under the Physical Education Department during the Fall 2002 semester. Heather co-produced a benefit concert in honor of Madeline Marshall in which the proceeds benefit disadvantaged youth whom would not otherwise be able to participate in dance programs. Heather also placed in the US Model Pageant and was chosen for the finals. She has taught after school programs at local schools, and volunteers to dance or model for various fundraisers. She has been part of the Scituate High School senior mentoring program.
